Quite honestly, I’m trying to knock out as many of these music video reviews as I can because I know we’re about to receive an overhaul of Kpop comebacks. I know Apink, Lovelyz, and Gfriend are all preparing something, so I need to get ahead of myself with The Rose, Imfact, and Eddy Kim. Let’s get into this.
I’m not sure what was happening in “Baby” by The Rose, but I loved the song. People seemed to keep disappearing and I think it’s connected with something. Maybe they’ll reveal it in their next comeback. I’m not sure what happened, but I do know there was a lot going on in that video. The song was very interesting as well, it was like an upbeat ballad. It had its soft parts, but there were parts that surprised me. And as always, I love the lead singer’s voice. He has such a unique roughness to his voice.
There were two things in “The Light” by Imfact that I was confused about. The first was the sunglasses. They had some importance and the other was the cat at the very end. The video told the story of a girl dying and the tragedy that comes with that. When she fell in the video, all the lights and monitors overloaded and sparks went flying resembling the overwhelming emotion that took over. As for the song, it was good and hyped. The Hip Hop/Trap vibes in the verse and that EDM style in the chorus made for a great song with much energy that we will be singing for a while.
Eddy Kim serenades his fans with a beautiful Jazzy song. “Whoa Whoa” has a clean guitar playing beneath his wonderful vocals. There were Marvel posters up in his apartment and a cactus in the corner of his bedroom. It seemed post production Eddy Kim was playing around with different visual effects and animations for this video. The song was smooth and laidback as Eddy Kim tends to be.
What did you think? What video was your favorite? I think Eddy Kim was actually my favorite out of all of these. I thought for sure it would be The Rose, but not today. Thank you for your support. Be sure to give your love to all of the artists I reviewed today. Thank you so much and I’ll see you in my next review.
My Quick Reviews are conglomerates of music video reviews. For instance, if there are several releases in a single day that are all related or somewhat related, I will do a Quick Review segment.
