In case you haven’t noticed, my Quick Reviews are being compiled by similarities whether it be only boy groups or specifically related groups or artists. Well, the pattern continues on as today I will be reviewing three music videos from artists all from within SM Entertainment. And just in case you were wondering if I’ll be reviewing Amber’s new release, I will not. That will be saved for a later date. Today I’m strictly focusing on male artists.
“New Heroes” music video by Ten of NCT is basically just a dance video with some cool visual effects. They really utilized the darkness and the light to create some interesting scenes in the video. The song was pretty typically EDM with a bit of a variation in the initial build up, but nothing too out of the ordinary. However ordinary it might be, I can see myself jamming to this in the next couple of days.
I have no idea what was happening in “Blooming Day” by EXO-CBX but I liked the song. The song had a very steady beat throughout but sounded very EXO/Super Junior. Which many of you know I don’t like Super Junior, but they do have a groove to their music. And that groove I enjoy. It looked like they were posing as Cupid, mixing different things together, but I’m almost positive I’m wrong.
Speaking of that group I’m not a fan of, Super Junior. I still try to recognize talent when I see it and try to give them a chance each time and they grow on me a little with each comeback. This song was the definition of a Latin Pop song, but done with some Korean mixed in. Leslie Grace, a Latina Popstar collaborated with Super Junior in the song to give it much more authenticity than if Super Junior had just done the song by themselves. I think the video was about one of the members apologizing to the girl for using her for sex. I’m not sure about it and honestly I wasn’t paying super close attention to the video but that’s what I got from it. It was a decent song and it should hands down be popular in the U.S because the U.S is on this Latin flair thing right now.
What did you think of these videos? Which is your favorite? I think my favorite would have to be EXO-CBX. Let me know which you chose in the comment section. Thank you for supporting me. Please make sure you give your love and support to all these SM artists. Support Kpop. Love Kpop. Thank you again and I’ll see you in my next review.
My Quick Reviews are conglomerates of music video reviews. For instance, if there are several releases in a single day that are all related or somewhat related, I will do a Quick Review segment.
