What's up? I have been so far behind on music video reviews lately because I'm at my parents' house and their WiFi kind of sucks. So today I'm reviewing two music videos, both by female artists. It feels like forever that I've done some female artists. The past couple of weeks have been male group focused. I did some female reviews but not as many as usual, so I'm here to remind you that I am originally a female Stan.
Soyou delivers “Grown Up” a music video about moving past relationships and finding yourself. The video focuses only on Soyou rather than a couple and is basically about her looking past the relationship she once had and finding solace in herself and being her own person. It is a beautiful message. As always, Soyou's voice is breathtaking. The ballad is soft and gentle much like a song from a drama. I'm seriously so in love with everything Sistar and miss them so much. Soyou blessed us with her angelic voice.
“Paint Me” by Mamamoo was different than anything I expected from Mamamoo. Usually they have a funky sound and play on that, but in this song, they were delicate, powerful and sensual. The video was extremely artistic using color focusing, and green screen backdrops. They all looked elegant in their dresses and powerful. The song was also strange because it had a definite chorus but it felt more like one huge build up of a song. The song kept building and rather than collapsing, it left the listener feeling high up with the power of music. The immense beauty that is in this song is absolutely stunning. The visual effects and the musicality come together to give us a masterpiece that will be remembered for years to come.
I hope you enjoyed this set of Quick Reviews. Please remember to support both artists. Mamamoo and Soyou and the former members of Sistar all deserve the love and respect you'd give any other artist. Please remember them. Like and share these reviews on social media. Please leave a comment with your thoughts of the songs. Thank you so much for the support you give me. I don't know if I deserve it, but I'm glad you still read my reviews and follow my blogs. Thank you. I'll see you in my next review.
My Quick Reviews are conglomerates of music video reviews. For instance, if there are several releases in a single day that are all related or somewhat related, I will do a Quick Review segment.
