Today is going to be a little different. Today I’m reviewing a bunch of music videos but they are all by the same artists. Anda and Primary who are both really less known than a lot of Kpop artists. But I’ve heard good things and weird things about these songs. I’m ready.
“Moonlight” is a good start to this set of reviews because it was Anda but a lot darker than some of her past material. It still had that very Anda vibe and Hip Hop beat to it. The funky bass riffing in the chorus, in my opinion, is what gave it that definite Anda feeling. The song was a lot more dark and sinister sounding at parts. Even though this song feels rather energetic, it still has a calming overtone to it.
The entire video, it sounds like Anda is singing “Like Jetplane” but she means to say “Zeppelin”. The song was already a lot airier and lighter than “Moonlight”. I guess it makes sense that “Moonlight” would be dark and “Zeppelin” would be like. It had a classic R&B/Pop sound that was sort of nostalgic. Anda is weird but she’s so perfect. She doesn’t care about what people think of her as this entire video was just her dancing like a maniac in public.
“Dressroom” may be my favorite song Anda has ever done because of how atmospheric and different it sounded from typical Anda. There was a very spacey and 80s influenced texture to the song. The video seemed to be portraying Anda as a disco ball because she was wearing very glittery outfits for a good portion of the video and it was just images of her spinning. It was really simplistic but still seemed extremely artistic.
I lied. I said “Dressroom” is my favorite Anda song, but it is actually “The Open Boat” because this song is very reminiscent of some of my favorite Dreampop groups such as CHVRCHES, The Naked & Famous, Grimes, and Purity Ring. The song starts out extremely atmospheric and continues with that dreamy pop sound throughout. This song was actually a really great recreation of some awesome Dreampop sounds. What’s even better about this song is that Colde from offonoff is featured in it. I love offonoff and I think they, as well as Anda and Primary, deserve more attention.
What did you think of all the Anda and Primary? Which song was your favorite and why? Thank you for supporting me. Please, if you enjoyed these videos or songs, share them with your friends. Thank you for your love and I’ll see you in my next review.
My Quick Reviews are conglomerates of music video reviews. For instance, if there are several releases in a single day that are all related or somewhat related, I will do a Quick Review segment.
