I made a mistake again. I fell behind and will try to make it up today. I have four music videos I need to review and I know that some pretty awesome stuff is coming up so I want to watch these videos so I don't fall further behind. “Joy” by NCT Dream was a remake, a mash-up and a canvas for new creations. The song took elements from “Jingle Bells” and the chorus of “Joy to the World” and then added in raps and some additional singing parts to create a beautiful Christmas medley. In the video, we see the members dancing around and goofing off with each other in a sepia-filtered holiday video. Luna of f(x) brings us a powerful, inspirational song about being true to yourself and proving who you are. “This is Me” will feature in the Korean dubbed version of The Greatest Showman if I'm not mistaken. That being said, you can imagine that the music video took snippets from the movie. But for just a second, I'd like to take a moment to appreciate Luna and those high notes she hit during this song. She truly is a magnificent singer. Come on, SM. What are you doing hiding her talent away all these years? She almost had me to tears. “Pink Label” by Laysha was an interesting song. There were multiple tempo and style changes within the song but it definitely kept the song moving and left the listener on their toes. It transitioned from a poppy song to EDM to a retro detune synthesizer. I actually really enjoyed the changes though. The chorus is a bit repetitive but those changes kept it fresh. The video was essentially the four members dancing with what I call the “Butt Squeeze Dance”. They appeared in different settings but the entire video was pretty much a dance video. Kyungri of Nine Muses and Jin Woon of 2AM join together to bring us a Christmas ballad entitled “White Christmas”. The song is really song and well blended, especially with both of their voices on the track. Kyungri raps in this song which is so nice to hear. The video is them rehearsing and working together to present us with this song. I love it and if you look really closely, you can see the reflection of someone getting jealous in your screen. Just kidding!
Well, what did you think of my set up this time? Did you enjoy my reviews? Which video and song were your favorite? I think Laysha's video was my favorite but Luna's song definitely topped my list. Please support all these artists. Like and share this review on social media. Leave a comment. Thank you for the support and I'll see you in my next review. |
My Quick Reviews are conglomerates of music video reviews. For instance, if there are several releases in a single day that are all related or somewhat related, I will do a Quick Review segment.
