I'm back with some more Generations! If you haven't checked out my previous review of Generations from Exile Tribe, please do so here: Generations - Alright Alright. It's been a minute since I've reviewed a Jpop boy group. So I'm here today to review “Pierrot” by Generations. I really loved “Alright Alright” so I'm ready for this song.
Before I start anything I will say one of the things I hate most about Jpop and the Japanese entertainment industry is the fact that they don't even put up full music videos a lot of the time. I understand maybe ten years ago, not wanting to put up full videos because more people watched TV but today, you have to have all your videos available on the internet because that's how people entertain themselves. Anyway, I did like the video. It was very short; just a verse and a chorus. I feel like if they wanted to have just a partial video up though, they could've cut some of the emotional build up scenes at the beginning of the video. Especially because those scenes give off a different vibe than the song intends. I originally thought we were getting a ballad. Of what I saw from the video, it was more of a dance based video than a story based which I'm okay with every once in a while as well. A lot of Kpop and Jpop is focused around choreography so it makes sense to have videos that are focused along those same elements.
Like I mentioned, I originally thought this was a ballad, but in definitely wasn't. I can't say my overall thoughts of the song since the whole song wasn't there, but from what I heard, I really liked it. It had a very dance-y vibe to it that reminded me of a lot of Kpop. It definitely was a catchy song but like I said, if you don't have the full song on YouTube or somewhere on the internet, you'll lose a lot of your promotional ability. People aren't going to want to listen to your channel's song because it's not complete.
Well, I hope you enjoyed the music video review or what I could do of a review. Thank you for your support. Please support Generations. They are a very good group. If you have any requests for non Kpop reviews, please leave them in the comment section. Thank you again and I'll see you in my next review.
Like I've mentioned before, music has no language barriers, it knows no language. I want to dedicate this section of my website to reviewing in any way, shape or form other languages of music. This includes Jpop, Mandopop, OPM, Vpop, Latin music, Russian, German, American, Venezuelan, you name it. If you think it's worth giving a listen, I'll listen to it and give you a review.
