SM Station is continuing through this year and all I saw was that Seulgi of Red Velvet was going to be featured on today's release. If you guys didn't know, Seulgi is my bias from Red Velvet so I had to participate in this release and do a review for it. The song is called “Darling U” and I have a feeling it is going to be a lot like the song Joy did for SM Station.
Honestly I had almost no idea what was going on in that music video. One second they were talking on the phone, the next second the camera was focusing in on snail heads and falling camera film. However, I think I understand the message they were trying to convey. Just my opinion, but I think the producer of this music video was trying to convey the feeling of being in love, maybe for the first time, maybe for the 100th time. Either way, things stop making sense and all that matters is that other person you're thinking about. That is why there were a bunch of nonsense things like shopping carts in a music video about love. By the way, I love that Seulgi died her hair to brown again because as much as I loved the orange, I didn't love it.
The song was nice and like I assumed, it had a very similar vibe to the song Joy and Seulong released a while ago. This song was a lot catchier in my opinion though. It had a dream-like feeling encapsulated by a Maroon 5 - “Sunday Morning” vibe. I liked it and I can't wait to put this on my playlist for more listening. The duo actually kind of reminded me of Wendy and Eric Nam from last year. I know it's weird but they absolutely did remind me of those two.
This has been my review of “Darling U” by Yesung and Seulgi. Be sure to comment your thoughts about the music video and any suggestions you might have for future reviews. Please also give me a like and share this post on social media. Thank you for supporting me by reading these reviews. I'll see ya in the next one.
