1. 2Yoon - Nightmare
You guys thought number one would be Mr Mr, but it wasn't and that's because NIghtmare just is the best k-pop song I've ever heard. The vocals layering, the raps, the instrumentation is all just on point and so epic. Cube certainly put a lot of effort into that song and I wish they would release a full length album or at least a second mini album.
Here's the song everyone who knows me thought would've been number one. I love this song and while I wish it was number 1, it just can't be because 2Yoon pulled together a better song in the long run. However, Mr Mr is my jam. This song is so addictive. It puts me in a trance or something like that because whenever it comes on, I stop what I'm doing and just listen and enjoy.
Number 3 is none other than f(x). The song Airplane is a song I can listen to forever. I honestly listened to it about 54 times in one day and this was after I had been into f(x) for a while and knew the song really well, but one day I just decided to listen to it non stop pretty much all day. And I still listen to it all the time. I have to listen to it at least once while I'm driving.
This song is fantastic. The guitars with the piano and synths on the back track makes for an amazing song. I honestly can listen to this song an endless amount of times. It's that good. And I know a lot of SuJu fans hadn't heard this song, so if you haven't, give it a listen. I'm not even a SuJu fan.
2NE1 nailed it early last year with this wonderfully fused piece of work. When you mix reggae, pop, rock, pop rock, and dubstep into the mix, you get 2NE1's Come Back Home. This song is driven by so many things from the soft keyboard at the beginning to the hard hitting dubstep influenced chorus. This song is by far their best song to date and could possibly be their best song ever.
This song has such a hard beat but is so simple at the same time. I mean they placed a monotonous droning bass hit in the majority of the song. But even with it being so simple. I can't help but loving this song. The glass shatter at the beginning of the chorus is so epic and again so simple. This song is fantastic and I have no other words to say about it.
Now, I know what you're going to say! "What about Only One!". I know what I'm saying. I love Only One but Love Song just makes me more happy. It's such an amazing song that hits so hard with that post-chorus dubstep-violin thing. So epic. But honestly this song is the best song Miss A's put out so far in my opinion.
Goo Hara didn't get much love for her solo debut album, but in my honest opinion, it was a fantastic album that everyone should listen to. Go check out my review of it, in the post just before this one. Goo Hara has proved herself to me and How About Me? is a perfect example of how she went about stealing my heart. This song is hard hitting and overall melodically and musically impressive. I hope Goo Hara has a second mini album in the next year.
Here's another Kara member who didn't receive much love for her solo debut. However, Gyuri just released two songs, this one and a song called Return which is also good too. The LIttle Prince features From the Airport, which I'm assuming a Korean rock band. This song is so good and reminiscent of Ayumi Hamasaki's earlier stuff. Her high pitched voice contrasts well with the loud aggressive sounds of the guitars and synths. This one is one that everyone should listen to at least once. Then you won't be able to stop listening to it.
While were discussing Kara and the soloist from that group, might as well mention the group itself. Kara is known for having addictive hooks and memorable choruses. However, among all the various songs I love by Kara, my favorite one that I could listen to forever has to be Pandora. This song is so good. The musicality of it is just phenomenal. With the Phantom of the Opera style intro, you can't go wrong with this hit.
