I'm here again to bring you yet another top 10 list. This time we're here to discuss top 10s from 2015. When you think about 2015, what do you think about? Was it that the year was a fantastic year for comebacks? Or was it that it was a fantastic year for debuts?
2015 was in fact a great year for debuts. There were so many great and wonderful debuts that happened in 2015, but I've compiled a list of my top 10. Hopefully you enjoy this list and if you disagree with any, please leave your list in the comments section.
10. Day6 - Congratulations
Day6 is a group I know very little about, but they caught my attention really quickly and I can't wait to do a review of their newest song but for the time being, we'll talk about 2015. They are a group that has much promise and talent.
9. CLC - Pepe
CLC is a fun, cute, and a bit quirky of a group. These girls know how to show their cute side with each release. It doesn't matter, they will make the concept cute and fun for all.
8. Vixx LR - Beautiful Liar
Beautiful Liar is a fantastic song from a fantastic sub unit. Leo and Ravi prove themselves worthy of the k-pop world even as just a duo. This release was up there in my favorites of 2015.
7. iKon - What's Wrong
While I personally am not very fond of iKon I have to give them props for their popularity they received in such a short time. What's Wrong is probably my favorite song from their latest album considering the fact that their sound in this song was very rough and raw.
6. Bastarz - Zero for Conduct
A lot of these groups I don't know a lot about, but they definitely caught my attention. Bastarz is another sub unit that caught my eye. This song was aggressive and dirty sounding. I love it for that reason.
Trespass was one of the songs that turned my head towards debuting k-pop boy groups. Before that point I was determined to be focused solely on girl groups, but I couldn't ignore the call Monsta X had issued me.
4. Playback - Playback
Playback is a fun, cute girl group that essentially held my face and forced me to pay attention to them. The fun video with its bright colors for their debut song caught my attention faster than almost anything I've ever shown interest in before.
3. The Ark - The Light
So according to rumors, The Ark has disbanded, which is unfortunate because these girls had a promising future in k-pop. Their only song and video shook the k-pop world as it focused on the events of the Sewol Ferry Tragedy that happened 2 years ago. The music video is considered one of the saddest videos to date.
2. Oh My Girl - Closer
Oh My Girl debuted early in 2015 with a song called Cupid, but I want to focus on Closer because that song struck a chord with me. It may be because it sounded like Big Bang's Blue (one of my favorite k-pop songs ever). But I think it was the mesmerizing effect they had on everyone in the k-pop world. They reached first place on several charts and stayed there for quite a while.
1. Twice - Like Ooh Ahh
Twice is becoming one of my favorite girl groups and they have only ever released one mini album. Their debut song was so addicting, but all the songs on their debut mini album The Story Begins are addicted as hell. Go listen to it now if you haven't.
