Hey welcome back to another top 10 list of 2015. I know the new year is already here and by the way, Happy New Years to everyone. Today's list is going to be a top 10 collab songs of 2015. This includes songs that feature a rapper, additional singer, songs that couldn't be placed in male or female category because they have both, and musician that are featured but don't sing or rap, but rather play the instruments behind the song. This list is my personal opinion, I know there are a ton of other collab songs out there but this is my top 10.
10. Playback - I Wonder (featuring Eric Nam)
Playback is a new girl group that debuted earlier this year and released the well loved song Playback, however, later in the year, they released this gem. This piece features Eric Nam who has featured on many songs throughout the year, but I feel like this song is gold, even though it doesn't include Hayoung very much (my Playback bias).
9. BoA - Who are You? (featuring Gaeko)
Let's face it, BoA is the queen of k-pop. People can argue their bias all day, but BoA is the true queen of k-pop and she comes back fairly strong with this pre-release for her 8th album Kiss My Lips. I feel like Kiss My Lips was a stronger comeback, but for all intents and purposes, we'll stick with this song. BoA featuring Gaeko, blow the minds of many Jumping BoAs out there with this catchy, chill and laidback jam.
8. Amber - Shake That Brass (featuring Taeyeon)
Amber of f(x) debuted this year as a solo artist and I'm so glad. Her album is fantastic and just so raw and emotional. This funky jam featuring my Ultimate Bias, Taeyeon is a piece of gold. What better combination could you ask for than Taeyeon and Amber. This song is still stuck in my head to this day.
7. Akdong Musician - Like Ga Na Da
Akdong Musician is one of my biggest hypes for comebacks this year and that's because every song they make is just brilliant. They are all perfect. This special song and video are no exception. This poppy song gets stuck in your head way to easy. I'm kind of sad this song didn't get more hype but it doesn't matter because all that matters is it does get some attention. I'm assuming YG knows what he's doing with these two.
6. Hyuna - Because I'm the Best (featuring Ilhoon)
Hyuna is back with her song Because I'm the Best or Roll Deep or whatever else you want to call it. This song is super addictive but it didn't grab me the first listen. I love Hyuna but I think my favorite part of this song is Ilhoon's rap. I love anything that Ilhoon does and anything with the members of 4Minute. His raps are just so smooth and flow really well with the song.
5. Goo Hara - Choco Chip Cookies (featuring Giriboy)/How About Me? (featuring Youngji)
Both of these songs by Goo Hara are perfect. In fact Goo Hara's first solo album Alohara is fantastic. You should pick it up if you haven't. I'm kind of sad these songs didn't get more hype and I'm downright upset that How About Me? didn't get the music video. Both of these songs are great for their own reasons. Choco Chip Cookies is a chill song that plays light on one's ears while How About Me? is a hard hitting song that gets you pumped up. I especially love Youngji's rap in this song. It's super sexy and smooth. Just perfect.
4. Verbal Jint - If the World was a Perfect Place (featuring Taeyeon)
If there's a song on this list that I think deserves more recognition, it's this one and one other on this list that I'll get to later on. This song is phenomenal. I think Verbal Jint is becoming my favorite rapper because he's just so talented. Taeyeon's vocals in the song mixed with his raps is just too much to handle. The music video is powerful too. It's talking about being more comfortable in your skin. Check out this song, even if you already have, just check it out again. It deserves much more recognition.
3. Park Gyuri - The Little Prince (featuring From the Airport)
So I was just looking at the views this video has and it's just barely over 200,000. That's just depressing especially with how good this song is. This is the song I mentioned earlier that just has a band playing in it. But I still feel like it's a collab. Also this is the other song that I wish got more recognition. Gyuri's voice is just so calming and exciting at the same time. She's also super beautiful, I don't know why this song was so overlooked. Check it out if you haven't.
2. Primary - Don't Be Shy (featuring ChoA and Iron)
This song is probably one of the most unique songs in k-pop for 2015 just because it's a reggae song. It's sad, but not a lot of k-pop companies are into the idea of reggae for some reason, but Primary took a hold of that and got the attention of the world of k-pop by including ChoA and Iron. This song is phenomenal and is a bit creepy in the music video, however I still love it and that's why it deserves the number 2 spot on my list.
1. Taeyeon - I (featuring Verbal Jint)
This is a pretty predictable choice for me. If any of you know me, you know that I'm a huge Taeganger. I love me some Taeyeon and now that I've gotten into Verbal Jint more it doesn't hurt this song at all. I think this was the most hyped release of the year. This and maybe Big Bang. Taeyeon slays the world with this song and her high notes. What else can I say except that this song is absolutely amazing.
Well that's another one of my lists for the top 10 of 2015. I'm trying to decide what to do next. I think I might do a top 10 albums of 2015. Or maybe a top 10 rappers of 2015. I'll let you know. Thanks again for reading.
