Taeyeon is officially back! “Starlight” was just a pre-release so I can officially say it! Taeyeon is back! I've been looking forward to this all day long and couldn't stand the fact that I was at work while it came out. Even so, I'm here to review it and see how it compares to “Starlight”. The song is called “Why”.
The music video for “Why” was lovely. It's aesthetic was quite pleasing and my favorite thing of all is that this music video seems to be a sequel or a epilogue to “Starlight” as Taeyeon reminisces her time here on Earth. She remembers Dean by skateboarding and being just as adventurous as they were together and then at the end, she tosses the pictures she took by herself and with Dean, among garden lights and walks away. I'm sure Taeyeon had a blast filming this video because she was playing in bubbles and swimming in a pool. Who could possibly hate their job when that's what they are supposed to do?
The song had an indie-EDM vibe to it and was quite catchy. My favorite part of the song however, was when she starts singing “why” in the pre-chorus. That part grabbed my attention like crazy but the rest of the song was great as well. The chorus had a anthem feeling to it, like “this-is-the-last-day” anthem energy. It was amazing and I can't wait to listen to the rest of the album and especially can't wait for my album to arrive. I pre-ordered it like a week ago.
Well, there's my review of Taeyeon's “Why”. I hope you liked it. It's funny that all of her title tracks are one syllable. “I”, “Rain”, and “Why”. I'm not counting “Starlight” because that was a pre-release track. If you liked what you read, please like, comment, and share this post. Thank you all for your support.
