My queen is back! Kim Taeyeon of Girls' Generation has officially made her comeback with “I Got Love”. Taeyeon made her debut back in 2015 with “I”. Since then she has made a comeback with TaeTiSeo, Girls' Generation's sub-unit. She released “Rain” at the beginning of 2016 then followed it up immediately with her 2nd mini album Why. A little while after that, she released “11:11” and now she is back with “I Got Love”. Honestly she is so hardworking.
I'm not sure what was going on in that music video but it was sexy as hell. It seemed like Taeyeon was dancing and collecting diamonds. There wasn't a whole lot going on throughout the music video but there were a ton of effects. Taeyeon looks so good with a sexy concept. Actually come to think about it, this video reminds me a lot of “You Think” concept that Girls' Generation did back in 2015.
The song was excellent. I loved almost all of it. The thing I hate is that K-pop seems to be venturing towards the EDM genre which ends up ruining their songs, especially songs of some of their greatest singers such as Taeyeon. The thing I hate about this song is that the verses and pre-chorus build up towards the chorus like any typical song, but then the “drop” happens and it cuts out all vocals. Why would you cut Taeyeon's amazing vocals in the most hyped part of the song? I did like how they recovered from this however in the final chorus. The chorus “drop” wasn't annoying though which I'm thankful for because it seems like each new drop that comes out gets more and more annoying.
