Super Junior. Super Junior is a very prestigious and well-known K-pop group in the industry. I won't go into depth too much about them because they are one of the more well-known groups. But I will say it's been about 2 years since they've had a comeback. The last thing I remember from them was “Magic” and since then they've been doing individual work because a couple members were in the military. I'm going to say this clearly so no one gets lost. I'm not an E.L.F. I don't necessarily like Super Junior, but I respect them because of their high level and what they have done for the genre. I don't think this is their full comeback yet, but more of a pre-comeback. The song “One More Chance” sounds like they are striving to prove themselves to maybe a lover, or maybe to their fandom one more time. I know E.L.Fs and they don't disappoint easily. Their idol literally breathes and they are convulsing on the floor. But knowing SM Entertainment and Super Junior, this will not be a bad comeback.
Super Junior definitely did not let me down. “One More Chance” had a bunch of symbolism throughout the video. The most prominent one was the doorway. The entire video showed the members walking through several doors down a seemingly endless corridor. Each door opened led to another and so on. It seemed like the one member (I don't know the members' names, maybe Hee Chul) was chasing the girl and at the end of the video he caught up to her on a beach. The cinematography was excellent and the video itself was incredibly well done. I told you Super Junior wouldn't fail us.
As expected from a song entitled “One More Chance”, we received a ballad that was incredibly emotional and heartfelt. It was a mix of soft rock and pop while bringing out the vocal power that is Super Junior. The chorus was definitely my favorite part for all the energy their voices possess and the power behind the words that I don't understand, but I don't need to understand. The rap portion was really well done and a great rap, but to me, it felt a little out of place. It felt like the rap came in a bit too early because once the flow had begun, it was more natural. Just the initial startup of the rap was a bit awkward for me.
Overall I quite enjoyed this song and this might actually be my favorite Super Junior song as far as their new material goes. This song was incredible and emotional in all the right ways. I'm really excited for their official comeback and hope you will get excited too. Please support me by liking and sharing this review on social media.
