Hey all! So today/tomorrow marks the 9 year anniversary of Girls' Generation being a group. 9 years ago today/tomorrow, they debut as a bunch of teenage girls with a hope and ambition for something greater and “Into the New World” was their debut track. Here we are 9 years later and Girls' Generation is an icon for k-pop all over the world. They have tread where many hope to and have trod that path with dignity and compassion and hope. Here's to 9 more years with Soshi! Today I'll be reviewing their SM Station song “That Summer” that was written by Soshi's very own Soo Young.
I love the creativity and simplicity that went into that music video. It reminded me of the ending credits from an animated film. There was pretty much just a river scene with various objects floating in it and different color schemes throughout. At the very end of the music video, there was a silhouetted image of all the girls from their “You Think” version of the Lion Heart album. It was beautiful and a great gift for SONES everywhere.
Even more than the video, I loved the song. It was a slower, ballad-type that hit hard especially when singing “Sailing into the night!” I have to hand it to Soo Young, she is a great writer. All their voices sounded as beautiful as ever but the voices that stuck out to me were Taeyeon and Seohyun's vocals in the chorus. They were so brilliant and lovely.
I loved this song and music video and I hope you enjoyed my review of it. Don't forget to like, comment, and share this post. Once again, I thank you all for supporting me even though I'm not very consistent with my reviews and such. Thanks anyway.
