I can’t forget about my boys Seventeen. It feels like they just had a comeback. Maybe “Thanks” is their title track for a repackaged album. I’m not sure, but I know I’m ready for more Seventeen. I just know they are going to slay this.
As I kind of expected, a song named “Thanks” is going to have a video that correlates with the title. The video was focusing on the hard work they’ve put in for the past couple of years. It was dwelling on the nights they stayed up rehearsing, the times they were worn out, the studio run throughs they went through and the reason they worked so hard was because of the fans. I personally wasn’t there in the beginning but I’m here now.
The music in this song was a little unique. I mean it sounds like a typical Kpop song, but they emphasized certain things that made it stand out from other songs. When the “pre chorus” comes in with the guitar, I originally thought that was going to be the drop into the chorus, but it wasn’t. It was deceptive like that. Even the second time through, it still tricked me. At the pre chorus, the synth sounds drop out and start to build up again, promising a huge drop and a huge drop is what we get. The guitar portion sort of plays as a faux chorus, but when the actual chorus comes in, you know it. It acts as a delayed chorus in a way.
The song was beautiful and the video emphasized their efforts they put forth to make it this far, even from a small agency. Please support Seventeen. I know I wasn’t in to their music in the beginning, but please still support them. Like and share this review. Let me know your thoughts. Did you like it? Are you a Carat? Thank you for your support. I’ll see you in my next review.
