Girls' Generation maknae finally makes her debut with her song and video for “Don't Say No”. Seohyun, being one of the main vocalists for Girls' Generation, has been deserving of this release for a long time. Personally I think Seohyun deserved a solo before Tiffany and possibly even before Taeyeon although that's a tough subject for me.
I had no idea what was going on in that video. However, the visual effects throughout were fantastic. The music video seemed to be focusing on the consumption of hardware. Maybe that we as a society are too infatuated by things and not so much by life and more important things. This is just me taking stabs at what the meaning behind the music video is.
I saw a bunch of complaints in the comment section of the video and I don't know why. The song is great. It is a hip hop beat heavily driven by piano and influenced by EDM. It's not an EDM track though. I think that's where people got confused. This track is definitely a hip hop song. It is influenced by EDM which means it has a build up however, since it is not an EDM song, it doesn't have to have that massive drop. In fact, I'm getting sick of every song building up to a drop off. This song is great because it takes away from that style.
I hope you enjoyed my review of this song and don't disagree too much. However if you do, please let me know what your personal thoughts are in the comment section. Also give me a like and share this on social media. Thanks again for the support and I'll see ya in the next one.
