Red Velvet has released a new music video for their Christmas single “Wish Tree”. I was going to do a review for Mamamoo's “1cm”, but was distracted by the fact that Red Velvet has come out with a new music video. If you don't know, I love Red Velvet, and if you don't know, you should watch this video. It'll tell you everything.
So this holiday season, SM teased 3 songs to be released by females within SM. One of the teasers had an “F”, a “B”, and an “R” that hinted that f(x), BoA, and Red Velvet would released winter songs. If I'm not mistake, Red Velvet came out with “Wish Tree” second, after f(x). Well, this song isn't my favorite song from Red Velvet, but it's definitely one that I love.
First things first, I was really disappointed that Red Velvet wasn't in this song. Now that that's out of the way. I was a little confused with what the storyline of the video was. My thoughts are that the short haired girl was in love with the other girl and didn't know how to tell her. She kept getting discouraged and finally told her friend to leave. I'm not sure about how accurate that is, but that's the vibe I got from it. Also, SM, if you're going to have talking in a music video, please add subtitles. It makes it so difficult for us foreigners to understand what's going on.
Of course, I love this song because it's Red Velvet. What else can I say about that? But the song is very back-and-forth-swaying kind of music. It's got a nice smooth and gentle groove to it.
That's my review of Red Velvet's music video for “Wish Tree”. I enjoyed it, but again, I'm very disappointed that Red Velvet wasn't in the video. I needed some more Irene to hold me off until they release “The Velvet”. Anyway, did you enjoy the video? Please comment down below. Thanks for showing your support for me.
