Psy, the creator of the top viewed video on YouTube “Gangnam Style” is back with another instant hit. Psy has been active since about 2001 but just in 2012 reached what many would call his pinnacle of fame. In 2012, he released a music video called “Gangnam Style” which to this day has over 2 Billion views, the most ever for a video on YouTube. Psy, just yesterday, released his new single entitled “Daddy” that was originally scheduled to be released over a year ago. “Daddy” features CL of 2NE1 and many have said that the song is more addictive than “Gangnam Style”. Along with that, the video is another concoction of hilarious, random videography and crazy dance moves. Psy has done it again.
I’ve watched this video a handful of times, so I am very familiar with it. The intro starts out quiet, with Psy in the delivery room. Many people have said that they honestly turned the volume up thinking that there was something wrong with their volume. Bad mistake. Do not turn your volume up at the beginning. The song has a very LMFAO/Euro Dance style to it; very addictive. In the video, Psy is in the delivery room and receives his child who has his face pasted on the child’s body. The entire video features Psy’s face pasted onto several other bodies. The child grows up and wows girls in his school. The video switches between the young child, a ballet dancing Psy, and an old Psy. I would have to say the ballet dancer Psy is my favorite because of the mustache. Basically the video is just filled with crazy nonsense like that, but is entertaining to watch and quite hilarious. I do like this song better than “Gangnam Style” but maybe that’s because “Gangnam Style” got played too much? I don’t know. I said that CL was featured in this song but featured is a bit of an overstatement. She has one line she sings at two different parts of the song so I don’t think that counts as being featured.
Anyway, what did you guys think of that video? Did you like it? Do you think it will go viral and possibly be bigger than “Gangnam Style”? Let me know in the comments section what you guys think of Psy’s comeback. Thanks for reading.
