“Yes I Am” is the comeback track from Mamamoo. What do I know about this release? Well, nothing. This song was released the same day as Blackpink. Blackpink has broken records so I feel sorry for any other group competing with them during that time. Mamamoo is a group I love so I decided to wait a couple of days before reviewing this song so that the music video will get some attention. Mamamoo brings us a flashy music video with tons of colors and a simple dance for their latest release. The music video was a serious dance video with bits of comedy and humor splashed in it. It was almost satirical how much humor was tossed in the mix. The nice thing about Mamamoo is that they actually know how to create a piece of work that can be taken completely seriously and can be dissected and analyzed for each comical portion as well.
The song definitely had that classic Mamamoo sound to it, while creating a fresh piece of work. What surprised me about this song is that Moon Byul seemed to not be getting any lines until she lit us up with that phenomenal rap after the second verse. As far as which member stood out to me, it's hard to say. Of course Wheein stood out because she's my bias, but actually I'd have to say Solar stood out the most because she's super cute as well. Overall, the experience was a good thing and if you were distracted by Blackpink, check this song out as well. It'll be worth your experience. I hope you enjoyed this review of “Yes I Am” by Mamamoo. I don't know if this is released as a single or as part of an album, but I know I'll be listening to it. Please support the artist. Like and share this review.
