Jong Hyun is back with his second album and a music video to go with it. His song “Lonely” features Taeyeon and let's be honest, I love SHINee and Jong Hyun, but I'm super stoked to hear Taeyeon's voice again! Jong Hyun is known for having pretty groovy beats so we'll see how this one is.
That was a pretty depressing music video, I'm not going to lie. The video is pretty much just Jong Hyun feeling depressed and moping around, counting the days until he inevitably commits suicide in the bathtub by drowning himself. The visuals in the video were phenomenal. They all seemed like artistic shots made for a virtual diary of some sort. But like I said, this video was extremely depressing.
The only thing that kept me afloat in this depressing video was hearing Taeyeon's voice with Jong Hyun. By the way, can we talk about how this should technically be a Taeyeon song featuring Jong Hyun because I swear she has more lines than he does. This makes for an incredible song of course because Taeyeon is Queen. The song itself didn't have any huge impact on me because it was just a ballad about being lonely. Taeyeon's voice saved the song otherwise it would've just been a ballad by another male solo singer from SM.
I hope you enjoyed my review of “Lonely” by Jong Hyun. Please don't hate me too much for saying the song would've failed without Taeyeon. I love Jong Hyun and think he's an extremely talented artist but this song was not his best song. With that, please like and share this review on social media. Comment your thoughts, opinions, rants, whatever else you'd like. Thank you for continuing to support me even through all these terrible things I say about your biases' songs. I'm trying to be honest with these reviews. I'll see you in the next one.
