The long-awaited day has arrived. J-Hope’s mixtape, also known as the “Hixtape” is finally here and apparently it’s destroying the charts. J-Hope, member and rapper of global sensation BTS, is making his solo debut with his mixtape Hope World and the title track “Daydream”.
Just to start off, compared to RM’s and Agust D’s mixtapes, this song is already so poppy and reflective of J-Hope’s personality. I’m not entirely sure what was going on in the video, but it seemed like the message was that every once in a while, it’s okay to drift off into a dream world. However, eventually you will need to wake up.
The sound of this song is so ethereal and calming but hard and not at all like the J-Hope many of us have come to love. I’m not saying this is a bad thing. In BTS, J-Hope is the ray of sunshine, but sometimes even the happiest people in the world need some time to come down and calm down. I think I’m so used to hearing J-Hope’s yell rapping that I forgot he’s a very talented rapper and has a great flow.
What did you think of the song? Were you thrilled that J-Hope’s Hixtape finally came out? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Thank you for supporting me but don’t forget to support J-Hope as well. Thank you again for everything and I’ll see you in my next review.
