Imfact is back with another music video. Now with Pentagon, they had released a new music video but it wasn't an actual comeback because there was no new music involved. I don't know if that's what this is because I haven't listened to Imfact's album yet, but don't worry I plan on doing so. Imfact released their video for “In the Club” which reminds me of two things. The first thing is “In Da Club” by 50 Cent which was a hit but not that great of a song. The other thing it reminds me of is “In the Club” by 2NE1 and that was a fantastic song but never made it big because it wasn't promoted as a title song. So I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I hope this song is more like 2NE1 than 50 Cent.
I love this style of music video even though it's so simple. The use of a projector screen in a music video can do wonders. I'm not sure what the story was behind the footage being played on the projector but I think it was a relationship that failed in one way or another. Either they broke up or she passed away but throughout the video, there was a guy walking the same path shown in the projector but he was alone. All he had with him was a camera but he wasn't filming anything. Another thing that was pretty cool were those light boxes because it gave the feeling of reminiscing and looking back. The whole video gave off that vibe.
Even though the song was a simple ballad, it still had a hauntingly beautiful sound about it. Maybe it was the fact that the vocals in most of the song were faded behind the mix. The almost whispers that were made during the rap verses were just so beautiful. The song was, like I said a simple ballad that utilized guitar and piano with some synthesized drum beats but I mean it works. One gripe I will have about this song that I didn't notice before with Imfact was there is a member that sounds like a girl and that's the same reason I can't get into Infinite. In “The Eye” by Infinite, there was the blonde haired member and he sounded just like a girl which bugs me. They can sound pretty and overproduced but don't sound like a girl. However, that being said, this is my favorite Imfact song so far.
