Hey everybody, here comes part two of this k-pop flood that is bursting out upon us. I fear we will all drown in the immense wave that is the Hallyu wave and all the k-pop releases that are scheduled so close together. Hyuna from the late 4Minute is making her first comeback as a completely solo artist. Meaning that Hyuna is now no longer part of a group as Cube killed 4Minute. This is for the title track from Hyuna's fifth mini album “A'wesome” and the song I'll be reviewing today is “How's This?”
The music video for this song was a bit overdone. I love Hyuna as much as the next person, but I don't necessarily like the direction she's going in. What happened to just dancing on the beach in your favorite team's jersey with “Bubble Pop!” I miss that Hyuna. The music video was fine, it was just the same as all American music videos and strangely similar to Jay Park's music videos. Just my opinion though.
The song however was bumpin'! I loved it and I thought it was going to be one of those low drone bass songs, but the bass actually followed the song really well. That chorus was just incredible. I could see me bumping this song in my car and I probably will tomorrow. The only issue with the song is it does get a bit hard to listen to after a while. Maybe I'm not into this type of music as much but it was just on the lower side of annoying. Other than that I loved it. I think it was just those “snake tamer” sounds that got to me.
Thanks for hanging around everybody. I hope you enjoyed my review of Hyuna's comeback track “How's This?” Let me know in the comments section what you thought about this song and music video? Do you think Hyuna is becoming the female Jay Park? Don't forget to like, share, and comment.
