Hyomin from T-ara released her solo song “Sketch”. I don't know much about it or anything really about her. I don't follow T-ara that closely, so I'm just going to skip ahead.
Here's the original version too in case you're not old enough to watch the sexy version.
So, I chose to watch the sexy version. Honestly, it was sexy, but not as sexy as I thought it would be. The video seems to take place in a tattoo parlor, on a bed of some sort, and in a photo studio that might also be the same location of the bed. The video theme and concept was about artistry. A tattoo parlor is a place where the art is placed on a body, much like a canvas as it says in the song. And a photo studio is a place where the body becomes the art. The concept obviously goes deeper than that due to the sexiness of the video. It has implications that she is the canvas, and he is to do his art to her....also known as sex. There wasn't anything super inappropriate with the sexy version to make it rate 19, but I guess there are those things, subtle hints at sexual innuendos. I think at most though it should have been rated 15. But overall, we get it, Hyomin, you have a nice body. It seemed like a show for her to be naked and show off her body.
The song, I really enjoyed. The vibe of the song throughout most of it was a hip hop ballad, slightly more upbeat than most of the stuff on The Velvet by Red Velvet, but still a ballad. Then there was that breakdown that was so simple, but was so unique because most songs that utilize a breakdown are complex and more about throwing off the listeners understanding for rhythm. This breakdown, however, was very straight forward and almost through me off just because of how basic it was. Hyomin's voice is very sexy and talented. I give her props for this song. It is beautiful and very enjoyable.
That's my review of “Sketch” by Hyomin. I hope you enjoyed listening to me rant on again about it. What was your favorite part? Which version did you watch? Let me know in the comments section below.
