Gugudan has been on a roll lately. Recently, they released their 4th mini album Cait Sith with the title track “The Boots”. Initially I thought it was “My Boots” which is a song by Canadian Singer/Songwriter Lights, but it’s not about who owns the boots, it’s about the boots in general. Maybe.
I’m not sure what happened in the video. The girls were flaunting their style and playing chess with makeup, but nothing really connected. In the end, the girl was a cat. Even if the video didn’t make sense, the visuals were on point. They used a green screen to dance in front of, but also added a visual effect on random objects. While the video was very girly, in a sense, the song was not at all.
The song was a hard hitting jam. It was an EDM track with a funky bass line. I have to say, out of all the Gugudan songs that have come out so far as title tracks, this one may be my favorite. It definitely was different from their last comeback, “Chococo”. I love Gugudan and am excited to hear them getting more and more recognition.
With that, I think I’ll end my review here. I know it’s a short one today, but I’m tired. I’ve been working for at least 12 hours today which I know isn’t much but I’m tired, okay? Please support Gugudan. Like and share this review on social media. Thank you for your support. I appreciate it. I’ll see you in my next review.
