It has been ages, or at least it feels like ages. It's so funny how acclimated we get to having releases come out non-stop and then to have a short week long break ruins us. I know there are still a couple videos I haven't reviewed yet, but I'll get to those when I get to those.
As many of you know, I'm not original a boy group Stan. In fact, for a long time, I avoided them altogether. However, recently I have found myself drawn more and more to boy groups especially BTS, Monsta X, SHINee, Big Bang, ONF, and many more. But one of the most important groups for my transition into Stanning boy groups was Got7. Got7 transformed my way of thinking and now I'm here to say I Stan many boy groups including Got7. If you didn't know, but if you wanted to know, my bias in Got7 is JB and my bias wrecker is Jackson. (That deep voice though!) Got7 made their long-awaited comeback today with “You Are”. They teased this comeback with individual teasers for each of the members. I have not followed any of those because, if any of you know me, I don't like teasers because they can be misleading.
In Got7's new music video for “You Are”, the members are moving from the city into nature and out into the open. I believe this is a symbolism for them freeing themselves, like a bird (ahgasaes). Several of the members are holding a triange with a strange symbol on it, one that many might assume confirms their connection to the Illuminati. However, that is not the case. In the end of the video, we see the triangles laid out to form one full piece which ends up being the Got7 logo. There was rooftop dancing, which I'm always a fan of. I love rooftop dancing, such as “Ring Ding Dong” by SHINee and “Hero” by Monsta X.
At the beginning of the video, we see a tunnel which can mean several different things. For me, it's personal imagery because I had a dream where I was standing in a tunnel. I looked ahead to where I was going and then I looked back at where I had been. In this dark tunnel, I could see various places where the tunnel split off and it could've gone one direction or another. However, looking back at where I was in that tunnel and glancing forward, I knew I was where I was meant to be. There was no going back and changing my path. I had chosen it. Life is a series of tunnels. We make choices and based on those choices, we end up in a new place that brings us closer to our goal.
Sorry for the random tangent, but those are my thoughts on the tunnel. Now, they may mean something completely different to Got7 or even to you. Please let me know what your thoughts are. Maybe the tunnels didn't even phase you.
As for the song, it had a beautiful atmosphere to it; a lot airier and lighter than some of their previous stuff. I loved their Flight Log series, but I'm glad they are passed that. My favorite part of the song was right when the chorus kicks in with that line “It's a beautiful sky”. The way the chorus comes in is like taking a fresh breath of air after coming up from being under water. It's that cleansing feeling that clears the mind and takes you to other places. It's exhilarating and pacifying all at the same time.
Honestly, I love this group and I'm so glad for them to be back. Who else is an Ahgasae? Please support Got7. I know BTS is all the hype right now, but please don't forget about our lovely Got7! While you're giving them love, don't forget to like and share this review as well. Comment if you're an Ahgasae and if you enjoyed the video. Thank you for supporting me and I'll see you in the next one.
In this section of my website, I will review Kpop music videos, albums, songs, and various other things pertaining to Kpop. This will be the main stage of my website. It is where the majority of the action will take place.
