Got7 is back with what I believe is their final installment in the Flight Log series. With that comes a new music video for their comeback track “Never Ever” for which I haven't watched any teasers or anything. If any of you have followed me for a while, you know that I don't watch teasers anymore due to the fact that I want to go into the music video comeback unspoiled. Got7's previous comeback songs for the Flight Log series were both phenomenal. “Fly” and “Hard Carry” were both extremely gripping songs that hooked the listener with each movement of the song. Let's find out if “Never Ever” is the same.
Before I get into the music video portion, I don't know the members' names very well, so if I make a mistake, please correct me because I don't know who I'm talking about but I have a slight idea. With that, the music video had a definite finality feeling throughout. A large portion of the video was shot with a white backdrop, kind of giving me the idea of a hospital. With “Hard Carry”, the members were at a crash site and it seemed like everyone was either dead and Jinyoung was trying to survive or something along those lines. This video had a very afterlife or hospital vibe to it. In the end, Jinyoung wakes up with the scene still white which gives me the feeling that he either died or woke up in a hospital.
The song was a lot slower paced than the last two songs. And the chorus had a sort of glitch effect being used throughout which sounded cool because it was borderline dubstep but not quite the same as dubstep. Lines seemed distributed pretty fairly, although I could be completely wrong with that, but here's to hoping.
