I know I’ve been behind a whole bunch lately and I said this before but I’m not going to review every music video from every group that comes out. I just don’t have that kind of time. Instead, I’ll post reviews for my favorite groups and for comebacks or debuts I think are really important to Kpop. I’ve been ridiculously busy working two jobs and today my car broke down which made me miss my second job which gives me a little time to review a Kpop music video.
With all that out of the way now, I can get on to introducing this review which, as you can tell by the title, is for (G)I-DLE and their comeback song “Hann” or “Alone”. (G)I-DLE is a group I’m super excited for because of how much “Latata” got stuck in my head. If you didn’t know, my bias from the group is Yuqi because of her cute face and unique voice. I can’t wait to see what they do this time around.
I honestly don’t know what to say about that music video. It all felt like a strange dream. The only things I actually remember from the video were Soyeon touching the scorpion (which is a terrible idea, by the way), Yuqi playing with mirrors and bottles and a lot of Middle Eastern style architecture. Maybe it’s not Middle Eastern style. What even is Middle Eastern architecture?
The song was a bit strange as well. It had a whistle aesthetic that seems to be featured in songs more often than not lately. The whistle feature gave the song an eerie vibe but I don’t think that’s what shook me. I think it was my expectation versus what I really saw. I don’t know what I was expecting but I don’t think it was that. I’m not saying the song was bad; I’ll just have to give it a few more listens before I can give a full thought out opinion.
What did you think of (G)I-DLE’s comeback song “Alone”? Did it meet expectations you might have had? Was it better than you thought or are you not sure yet either? Let me know all your thoughts in the comment section. Thank you for supporting me and hopefully I’ll post a new review sooner than later. Until then, keep listening to Kpop. Keep an open mind to music.
In this section of my website, I will review Kpop music videos, albums, songs, and various other things pertaining to Kpop. This will be the main stage of my website. It is where the majority of the action will take place.
