Gfriend is back with their comeback track “Navillera”. There are tons of speculations for what this word means, but the best explained meaning is “fluttering” which resembles a butterfly as the beginning of the word is “navi” which translates in Korean to butterfly. The real question now, is how does this music video relate to the last 3 videos Gfriend has released. According to many online blogs and YouTubers, Gfriend has been stitching together a story with each music video. Does this song and video continue that trend? We'll find out.
The music video seemed to have bits and pieces from each of the previous music videos. It was set in a school much like “Glass Bead”, there were scenes of summertime and enjoying each others' company as seen in “Me Gustas Tu” and there was the bridge and teddy bear that were in “Rough”. I wonder what this music video is supposed to mean or represent.
The song was super catchy. Probably their best so far, which is saying a lot since I loved the hell out of “Rough”. It had many similar motifs that all the other songs had but they were able to deliver even better than before and the dance is still on point! I'm still learning their names so no, I can't point out who's who in the music video but I still love them and that doesn't detract from the amount I love them.
So that is my review of “Navillera” by Gfriend. I hope you enjoyed it and keep checking out my blog for more updates, reviews, and other goodies. Please like, share, and comment if you enjoyed it, if you didn't enjoy it, please leave me a comment letting me know what I can do to improve. Thanks.
