Gfriend is officially back with their music video for “Love Whisper”! Gfriend is slowly becoming one of my favorite girl groups. My bias is Sowon but Eunha, SinB, Yuju, Yerin, and Umji are all fairly close to taking that away. Some of Gfriend's popular songs are “Glass Bead”, “Rough”, “Navillera”, and “Fingertip”. From what I saw of the teasers, the group went back to a more cutesy style, but we'll see.
They absolutely went back to their cutesy style which I'm okay with. However they didn't revert to the schoolgirl outfits that used to rule their sub genre. The music video started out with an old radio. The girls were trying to listen to something throughout the entire video but then in the end, really were trying to free a butterfly (which has reference to two past videos). There were a ton of outdoor scenes and they were wearing all white for most of the dancing scenes. They all looked phenomenal as expected.
Like I mentioned before, the style was definitely a cutesy style but more mature somehow. Kind of like how Lovelyz matured style with “Destiny”. Two things I was thrilled they kept with their style was firstly, the guitar solo dance break. Gfriend is pretty much generic in their musical style except for that guitar solo break. Not many other cutesy girl groups have that sound. Secondly, and this one is a bit cliché, but I love it, is the ending high note sung by SinB, I think. I wasn't paying super close attention to the video because my laundry had ended right at that moment.
Well I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope you will support Gfriend because they deserve the love and respect from each person who watches their videos. Please like and share this review and don't forget to leave a comment below. Thank you for supporting me and I'll see you in the next one.
