Exo, the 9 member boy group from SM Entertainment is back with their Christmas video. I’ve heard a lot about this video, that there’s a whale in it or something like that. I haven’t read any of the theories yet because I haven’t yet watched the video, but that’s why I’m here. Exo is a group that I’m a little on the fence about. I like them but at the same time I don’t like them. Not that I don’t like them as people, I’m just indecisive about their music. There’s a lot of songs I love from Exo like “Mama”, “Overdose”, “Growl”, and “Lightsaber”, however there’s a vibe I get from their style that is very Super Junior….Junior-esque. I respect Super Junior. They’ve been in the business for years, but I don’t like them. I like maybe one or two songs from them total. And yes, I have listened to a bunch of their stuff including Mr. Simple album, Mamacita album, and the Devil album. But that’s not the point today. I’m here to watch Exo!
Okay, so that video was a bit confusing. I understand the video was about the guy (sorry I don’t know the members’ names) being alone and regretting things in his past, I’m assuming. The music was super pretty. This may be my favorite Exo song they’ve ever done because it’s just so beautiful. I got chills from this song. So, can someone please tell me what the whale means? Is that person Tao and he’s looking at the “whale” of a mistake he made leaving the group? Did Tao even come back? I thought I heard somewhere that he did. I don’t know. I’m so confused.
That was my review of Exo’s “Sing for You”. It was a lovely and a bit confusing music video but the song was beautiful. So amazing! I’m going to add this song to my playlist. What were your thoughts about the video? What’s your whale theory? Leave it in the comments below.
