CLC is back at it again with their comeback song and video for “No Oh Oh” from their new album Nu.Clear. I wonder if this is a transition from their old cutesy, aegyo style into a more mature sound and concepts. It will be interesting to see what the concept of this music video will be. And I'm more excited to see if the song will be better than “High Heels” because that song was their best song to date.
“No Oh Oh” was definitely a more “mature” song. It had a 90s hip hop beat driving it through most of the song. This level of sexy/cute is about the same that Twice does consistently. It's on an indecisive ledge, teetering back and forth between cute and sexy. The set however, reminded me of the 80s because everything was bright and pink and neon.
The song is definitely a step up from a lot of their previous stuff. However I'm not sure if it's above “High Heels” yet, I'll have to listen to this song a bit more to fully grasp my opinion about it. It definitely is a lot better than “Like” or “Pepe” though, that's for sure. And that rap mid way through the song is quite fierce for a group that is seen as one of the big “aegyo” groups in k-pop alongside Lovelyz, G-Friend, and Oh My Girl.
