CLC is back and I’m even more confused about their concept because they have changed it so much in the past few comebacks. I personally liked their cutesy style but I’m willing to give this elegantly sexy looking concept a try. Don’t fail me, CLC. “Black Dress”, let’s see what you’re made of.
I want to say that video had something to do with female empowerment but I don’t know how. The girls were all in black suit outfits and playing with scissors. At one point, one of the members take the scissors to her throat but is stopped. She wakes up and picks up the scissors to cut her hair. Each of the members follow in cutting their hair. In the center of the room is a pole with one member singled out and pole dancing.
The tune was hard hitting and grab your attention. However, there was a buzzing synth that actually annoyed me. It was a descending buzz synth that was too repetitive and honestly, I got bored of it really quick. It’s sad to say this because that musical motif was the driving force of the song. There was a hint of a tropical sound peeking out but it never saw full fruition.
I hope their other songs are better than this one because this one just wasn’t very impressive. They looked sexy and badass, but the song just didn’t keep me intrigued. What do you think? Did you enjoy the song? Like and share this review. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Thank you for supporting me and please don’t forget to support CLC. Thank you and I’ll see you in my next review.
