Block B is one of those many groups that I know very little about. I know they're a boy group but I don't know how many members they have or which company they are a part of. I don't think I could even name a song of theirs, but I want to get better at knowing and understanding k-pop as a genre and as an influential movement within music. That is why I'm watching this video as well as many others. Block B came out with a new song “Yesterday” and I heard good things about it.
I noticed a similar theme throughout the music video to that of “I Got a Boy” and “Lion Heart” by SNSD. The concept was about a girl that cheats. This is similar to the SNSD songs because they are about a boy that cheats. The video was really colorful and had some laughable moments. There were parts of this music video that reminded me of “Gotta Go to Work” by Beast. It was really interesting to see similarities such as that in the video.
So I totally forgot that Zico is part of this group. So I lied a little bit. I know that Block B is a boy group and that Zico is a member of the group. The song had a nice rock groove to it that is reminiscent of the 70s. It had a little bit of that bluesy jazz influence in it which is always a plus. I loved the rap lines and those were honestly probably my favorite part of this song but the song as a whole was killer and very well executed in terms of production.
I hope you all enjoyed my review of “Yesterday” by Block B. I can't wait to review more music videos for you. Why don't you guys suggest me some videos to review in the comment section. Thanks for all the support and love you guys show me. Please like and share this post and I'll see ya in the next one.
