So apparently the last Beast music video I watched wasn't the official release, it was a pre-release track so that makes sense why it wasn't banging like I was expecting. However, today, they released the title track from their new album Highlight with the song “Ribbon”.
The music video for this song was a bit depressing. The lead guy was doing all the things you do with someone you love by himself. He was pulling things out of a locker that I assume were from the past relationship and at the end he pulls out a black rose. There was a ton of symbolism in this video but I'm not going to try to analyze it because let's face it, I'm terrible at doing that. The clock seemed to refer back to Time, their previous album.
The song was really catchy! “Tie up a ribbon!” is still stuck in my head. My favorite part about this song was the string orchestration. I love when songs utilize the string instrumentation within a song. That's why I love Henry's songs, because he's a very good violin player and he adds that into his songs. The song was actually more of a ballad than I would have thought, especially with their pre-release being a full on ballad. But I definitely like this song better than either of their last two releases “Yey” and “Gotta Go to Work”.
Thanks for reading this review and sticking around. I hope you enjoy these. I'm out of a tripod that's why I'm not doing recorded reactions. I will eventually get a new tripod and start recording my reviews. But until then, this will have to do. Please like, comment, and share this post everywhere.
