Looks like S.E.S is back again with another music video and I fear that there will be another one within the next day or so. This time they are back with their music video for their song “Remember”. I don't know anything about this release since I didn't watch any teasers.
So I think this music video is about a mother looking back at when her daughter was younger and wished for snow. Then one night snow came falling down. The 3 girls are just singing throughout the music video and laying in the grass and sitting in the house. There was a lot of light flares to make it seem like a memory but I might be wrong.
The song was a ballad and I have to say this; their vocals rock. I like the way SM does their ballads especially on the female side because it's so nice to listen to. The way the instrumentation matches their vocals is just breathtaking.
Well, that is my review of “Remember” by S.E.S. I hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to like, comment, and share this all over social media. Thanks again for the support and I'll see ya in the next one.
First generation k-pop is making a comeback with groups like Sechkies, Shinhwa, S.E.S and many more returning to the industry after years of hiatus. S.E.S released yesterday a music video “Love (Story)” for the last SM Station of the year. S.E.S wasn't a group I was originally into so I don't know a lot about them but they were classic.
The music video was a compilation of their old music videos. They looked like a cute group and I don't know why I never got into them but I think it was because BoA, g.o.d, Fly to the Sky, DBSK, Rain, and others distracted me from them. At the very end of the music video, it had a video clip of the girls now and it is crazy to see the change even though they don't age a lot, they still looked like veterans in the industry.
I felt like I was back in the 90s a little bit with that song. The layout and style of the song was something straight from the late 90s early 2000s and I love that because that way these girls aren't trying to adapt their music to 2016/2017. They are remaining true to their original style. There was a rap in the song that kind of reminded me of Irene's rap in “Dumb Dumb” that is that the rapper was using titles of their previous songs as a rap kind of like Irene does with Michael Jackson tracks.
It felt good to review a song like this. Honestly I felt some kind of nostalgia even though I wasn't with this group originally, I can definitely say I enjoyed that. Thank you for the support and don't forget to like, comment, and share this post. I'll see ya in the next one.
EXID is back with a new music video from their latest album Street. This music video is for “Cream” and honestly I haven't listened to EXID's newest album in full yet. I've only listened to a couple songs here and there so this is like a comeback to me.
In the music video, the girls of EXID were partaking in a delicious “cream” dessert. Throughout the entire video things seem normal until LE takes a bite of her cake she found in a vault. The look on her face is disgusted and then it's revealed that the guys were poisoning all the girls. I read somewhere, maybe in the comments of the teaser that this is supposed to be “Every Night” part 2, but it doesn't really have the same vibe.
The song was catchy enough. It was a dance track with the word “cream” being repeated over and over, but it was good. I enjoyed it. One of the things I was happiest about this song is that it didn't sound like “Up & Down” or “Ah Yeah”. I love those songs but “Hot Pink” kind of sounded like those and I was hoping they'd get out of that musical motif. They obviously did for “L.I.E” but sometimes it is hard to stick to that change you make.
I hope you enjoyed this review of “Cream” by EXID and can't wait for whenever their next comeback is. Thank you so much for all the support and don't forget to share this post on social media. See ya in the next one.
EXO made their wintery comeback again with “For Life” to promote their Special Winter Album. EXO is one of those legendary groups that you just expect each new release to be incredible and somehow better than the last but I don't think anything can beat “Monster” because that track was lit in every way possible.
The music video had me a bit confused and I apologize for not knowing anyone's names but it seemed to be a cycle. A girl had a dream about being chased by a member of EXO. Towards the end of the dream, the member met her in a lighted room and put a bracelet on her arm and then leaned in to kiss her. However, she woke up right before the kiss and had the bracelet on her arm. She went to all the places in her dream and ended up at the beginning with the sign that read YOU WERE HERE and she gave the bracelet to the member that was in the car.
So, I don't know anything that went on during the music video and probably because I wasn't paying the closest attention. The song was really soothing and calm like expected of winter songs especially from EXO but I have to say this was probably my least favorite winter song they've promoted. My favorite song from them period is “Sing for You” but that song was incredible.
This has been my review of “For Life” by EXO. I hope you enjoyed it and will leave me feedback in the comment section. Please like and share this post all over social media. Thanks for your support and I'll see you guys in the next one.
Apink has blessed us with a new special album release with a title song “Cause You're My Star” being promoted. Apink is a group that I haven't been super familiar with but they are a classic k-pop group so therefore I will try everything in my power to get into them.
The music video was really cute. It was a very Christmas music video. One girl was writing a huge list while all the girls were decorating a Christmas tree. A lot of these cutesy girl groups tend to use a bright filter on their camera lens which gives the feeling of dreaming.
The song was extremely poppy and had an electropop vibe to it. I also liked the contrast between the poppy side and the more mellow side of this song. It was done really well. And of course I saw Eunji smiling at me. My heart has melted.

K.A.R.D is the new 4 member co-ed group (2 guys, 2 girls) from DSP Media, the former company of now disbanded Kara. K.A.R.D apparently stands for King, Ace, Joker (emphasis on the “r” in Joker), and D means DSP Media, I think, something like that. After Kara disbanded earlier this year, DSP Media is hanging by the threads of their hopes that this new co-ed group will be successful. Their debut song “Oh Nana” is the song I will be reviewing today.
The music video was fairly plain. There was dancing that was at some points in the video, pretty sexual and then there was singing and a bunch of filtered shots of playing cards and playing card symbols. I don't know much about DSP Media but there was a girl that looked similar to Goo Hara from Kara. Not to mention, I think the same girl had a voice that sounded kind of like Jiyoon from 4Minute.
The song was pretty catchy. It is weird to see girls and guys in the same group but I've always supported the idea of a co-ed group. I actually thought it was weird that there are not very many co-ed groups. The song had a pretty chill vibe to it while still being fairly aggressive. I like it because the guys bring the rage and the girls kind of calm it out. It's a nice contrast to have in a song like this.
I enjoyed watching this video and I look forward to more that K.A.R.D has to offer. Thanks for the support and reading my review of this music video. Please like, comment, and share this post all over social media. I'll see you guys in the next one.
The Kings are back! Big Bang are back after a massive schedule from last year and taking about a year off from promoting, they are back for their final release before they enlist. I don't think I need to say much more except that if you don't know G-Dragon, Taeyeon, T.O.P, Seungri, and Daesung, you've been missing out!
I don't have words to describe how I felt while watching “Last Dance”. The music video wasn't a whole lot. It was pretty much just the members of Big Bang in different areas of a set similar to “Lonely” by 2NE1 and “Stay” by Blackpink. The camera was spinning the whole time to give a sense of uneasiness. A bunch of people were walking by but I'm sure there will be plenty of theories about that.
The song was a solemn ballad that was just so emotional. I'm a Taeyang fanboy so you know the second Taeyang came on, I was dead. But why does Taeyang have to be in dreadlocks? Seriously though, this song was incredible and I can't even imagine what “Fxxk It” will be like.
“Fxxk It” was a jam. It was nice and steady, not too fast but I'm a little disappointed they didn't say “fuck it” once in the song, at least not that I heard. The music video was late 80s early 90s influenced but it was pretty much just them hanging out similar to “We Like 2 Party” but a little more edgy. Either way, I loved it and can't wait to listen to “Girlfriend” as well.
Like I mentioned, the song was steady, not too fast and not too slow but it was a jam. Fantastic song production. All I know is every time Taeyang sings, I die a little on the inside because a voice shouldn't sound that good.
Thanks for supporting me. Thanks for reading this review of “Last Dance” and “Fxxk It” by Big Bang, the kings of k-pop. Please continue to show your support by liking, commenting and sharing this post all over social media. Thanks and I'll see ya in the next one.
Jessica, former member of Girls' Generation is making her winter comeback with her new song “Wonderland” that is said to be tied in to her two previous videos “Fly” and “Love Me the Same”. Well actually I don't know if “Love Me the Same” is connected but it feels like it is. I'm super excited for this comeback because as much as I miss Jessica in Girls' Generation, I still really support her and love her musical style she's chosen to do.
This may be her kind of wonderland but it definitely isn't mine. Throughout the music video, she sees herself traveling to the peak of a really tall mountain. Almost the entire video is shot in snowy locations, but this is something she may like, but I don't. Of course, at the end of the video, it shows Jessica waking up still in her bed, therefore she doesn't make it to the “wonderland”. Will Jessica ever make it to her snowy “wonderland”?
I enjoyed the song, it had a chillstep vibe to it which I dig. The chorus threw me off guard because I thought it was going to have a massive drop, but it didn't, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. While the song was heavily influenced by chillstep, it definitely had some incredibly poppy synths featured throughout the majority of the song.
This has been my review of “Wonderland” by Jessica. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope you guys will like, comment, and share this post all over social media. Thanks for the support as always. I'll see you guys in the next one.
Park Sang Hyun also known as Cheondung also known as Thunder, former member of MBLAQ also known as Park Sandara's little brother is making his solo debut. Back in December of 2014, Sang Hyun left the group MBLAQ. Now Dara's little brother makes his return to k-pop alongside former Kara member Goo Hara and their song “Sign”. I'm not sure what this song will sound like but I'm hoping it will be good especially since it features my bias from Kara.
That was one of the best music videos I've seen in a while. The concept was really simple but played out well. Thunder was trying to get with a girl and every step along the way, he saw different actions he made had drastic results (her shooting him in the head). Each time he passed a certain step, a sign would come on the screen and say that he cleared it. At the end of the music video, he was supposed to kiss the girl. While going in for a kiss outside her apartment, the camera panned to the end of the hall where Dara was laughing as if to say she set up this whole playout. Brilliant video.
The song didn't catch my attention a whole lot at the beginning but slowly dragged me down much like k-pop does to me every day of my life. I wish Hara had more lines in this song and it didn't look like her in the video. If it was her, she looked way different. But the highlight of this video for me was Dara at the end. Sibling support right there.
Well, I hope you guys enjoyed my review of “Sign” by Thunder. I see him going far. I can't wait to listen to this album. Please like, comment, and share this post on social media. Thank you for the support and I'll see ya in the next one.
Hyoyeon of SNSD, Girls' Generation, is making her solo debut with her song “Mystery”. Hyoyeon is the dancing queen so if there's not some amazing dancing in this video, I'm going after Lee Soo Man. But seriously, this is so hype because it's something to do with Girls' Generation, therefore I am happy.
I wasn't too impressed with the music video. It was all just effects not very much dancing. The effects were cool and all, but if you have Hyoyeon doing a solo music video, you pretty much just sit her in a room and play the track. In the music video, Hyoyeon was walking past all these people that appeared to be dead, but they came back to life when she walked by. Maybe that's the mystery.
At first, I thought we were listening to “Come and Get It” by Selena Gomez because of the tom drums intro. The song was good, but not amazing. I like Hyoyeon as much as the next person, but her debut song didn't impress me a whole lot. The verses and bridge were a lot more interesting than the choruses because all she said was “mystery” over a Middle Eastern beat. However, I will say her rap in this song was probably the best rap I've heard from her. Those triplets were awesome. Keep it up Hyoyeon.
I hope you all enjoyed my review of “Mystery” by Hyoyeon. Please like, comment, and share this post. Thanks for all the support and I'll see you in the next one.
