Bolbbalgan4 is back with what appears to be 3 tracks with music videos attached. I'm really excited for this release because I feared that Bolbbalgan4 would become depleted, unrecognized, and eventually disband due to lack of recogtion. So the tracks are “Blue”, “Imagine”, and “Some”.
I imagine the next video is going to be the same, but the actually video for “Blue” is cut short for one reason or another. I'm not going to speculate why, but the short 1 minute snippet of video that was there was majestic. Bolbbalgan4 is a phenomenal group that has never disappointed. The video basically showed the blonde member (I can't remember her name) waking up and drinking a blue drink and pulling a blue flower from some water. The song was jamming of course. I may not actually review the next track because of how short it is.
I know that video had a story and I kind of followed it, but not really. Throughout the video it appeared that the girls were preparing a present for a party, but in the end of the video, it was just the two of them singing and dancing. Maybe it's supposed to be saying something about enjoying your own company. The song was catchy and full. It had a lot of sound coming from it. I love these girls so much.
Go support them because they deserve it. Thank you so much for showing me support thus far. I appreciate it. I'll see you in the next one. (Can you tell I'm being lazy today?)
LOOΠΔ is a girl group under Blockberry Creative that is debuting a new member of its final group each month. This month however is different and that is because LOOΠΔ is debuting their second sub unit consisting of Kim Lip, Jin Soul, and Choerry with new song “Girl Front”. I'm so excited I cannot wait!
LOOΠΔ ODD EYE CIRCLE, ODD EYE CIRCLE being the name of the sub unit, have officially debuted and it was so damn good. While the music video was a bit confusing, there seemed to be repeating features such as the possibility of stuck in a moment. They seemed lost at the beginning of the video. Each member was at their own location in a city. It's like they were finding each other. Jin Soul even seemed to jump through space to try to find the girls. I liked that they wore their suited colors for the dance but had on various outfits for the actual video portion. I'll have to go through and dissect it a little more.
As for the song, I'm not going to lie it was poppy as hell and I wasn't expecting it to be that poppy. The only member that had a song that poppy from this sub unit was Choerry, but then they brought to life that darker, edgier sound that each member was known for. While I love each member so very much, Jin Soul's rap was life for me. I love hearing her rap and I hope she gets more rap lines in the future because her voice has just the right amount of raspiness to make it sound good but not too overly done. I'm excited to listen to the album and buy the album. I made it a goal of mine to purchase every album, including single albums from LOOΠΔ because I love them and they deserve so much more love.
Well now you know, LOOΠΔ ODD EYE CIRCLE has officially debuted and it was awesome! Listen to LOOΠΔ! You deserve it, they deserve it and each will help the other. Please like and share this review on social media. Spread the word about LOOΠΔ. Seriously this group doesn't deserve to fail. Who is April? April is a girl group with a cutesy concept under DSP Media. They are under the same company as K.A.R.D and former girl group Kara. April is a great group that I honestly don't know much about, but should know more. They released their comeback track “Take My Hand” today and I'm so ready to be slayed by them.
April's song “Take My Hand” had a concept that has been done over and over before but they made it their own. They took the “girl has crush on guy” concept and twisted it just slightly. “Muah!” was a track released by April a couple years ago that fell under the same concept design however this one didn't end with them simply feeling sorry for themselves. What they did was find a way to reverse time and change the outcome of their stories.
The song was cute, but not too cute. It definitely had a more mature sound to it which I'm a fan of. Honestly the track sounded more like classic K-pop for some reason to me. It also had a Lovelyz vibe that I know I'll regret saying. I love Lovelyz and I love April and honestly these two groups are so similar but have ventured down their individual paths. I think the thing that stuck out to me most was that the song didn't have any really cliché hooks that a lot of popular songs have. The song took a different direction musically.
April is back and I hope you enjoyed the video and my review of the song “Take My Hand”. Please support April because they are awesome and they deserve your love and support. Please like and share this review as well as leaving a comment below. I appreciate every one of you and hope you will continue to support me as well. Thank you and I'll see you in the next one.
I've waited and waited! I almost decided last night to stay up even though I had work today at 7 am. But the time has finally come and I will review this music video because I'm so hyped for it. I think you all know what I'm talking about. BTS – “DNA” came out today! My boys are back and I'm ready for them to slay me.
I was crying right from the start! That intro opened up and it about had me to tears. My boys look good even in the oversaturation of the video. That colors really popped and almost made my eyes hurt. I'm not sure what the concept of the video was, but it seemed to be about moving through space and time and using a ton of animation features on the video. The boys that caught my eye the most were Taehyung, J-Hope in his jersey, Rap Monster, and Suga of course. I feel like Suga always get jipped with his rap lines. Their dance was, of course, fire!
I wasn't quite expecting a song that sounded so pleasant. Not that BTS isn't pleasant to listen to, but they are a hip hop group. The song had an underlying summer vibe intermixed with some EDM influences. It was a great song and I'm excited to listen to the album.
BTS is back and I hope you enjoyed it because it will probably be a little bit before they release a new comeback after this. Enjoy this one for a while. Six of our favorite girls, well, my favorite girls are back with a new music video to promote the release of their repackaged album for Parallel. These lovely girls Sowon, Eunha, SinB, Yuju, Yerin, and Umji are back to give us life and more with a new song that is bound to kick ass and be ridiculously innocent. The title is “Summer Rain” and from the looks of it, appeared to be filmed in someplace similar to that of “Navillera”.
Throughout the music video, we see the several members dispersed throughout the city or town. Each of them at their own locations, read from a note while they stand under an umbrella or near the rain. Towards the end of the video, we see each of the members sort of break down and let go. I believe this is because a friend or a loved one has passed away. One of the members (I don't remember which one, probably Yerin) is bringing a present but when reading the note, drops the present in the rain. SinB embraces a journal of some sort. There are reasons to believe that a loved one passed away; someone each of them held dear in their hearts.
This track is uniquely beautiful and has a haunting resonance built up throughout. It's strange because this song has that typical Gfriend sound. I don't know how to describe it but Gfriend has a sound that isn't necessarily electric guitar tied in with innocence. They have a style that is unique to them, however this song especially had a unique style to it that was impressive and caught my attention. That feature is the classical style piano riffs layered within the typical Gfriend melodies and the electropop beats that define Gfriend as a cute and innocent group.
Well, Gfriend is back and for me that is exciting. I love Gfriend and will continue to support them. As for you, my reader, what are your thoughts about this video and song? Are you a Buddy like me, or are you not really fond of the cutesy girl group style? Let me know. If you are a buddy, who is your bias? Mine is Sowon because she stood out to me. Leave me a comment in the designated section below. Thank you so much for supporting me and I'll see you in the next one.
When I think of a perfect smile, there are a few names that come to mind. Taeyeon, IU, Chorong, and Tiffany are a few that come to mind, but for me the person within the K-Pop world that has the absolute perfect smile to me is Jeong Eun Ji of Apink. Her smile makes me smile, no matter how down I feel. If I look at her smile, it cheers me up. So why am I ranting about smiles? Well, Jeong Eun Ji of Apink released a special solo track today called “Manito”. This release snuck up on me and I wouldn't have even known about it if it weren't for the suggested videos on my YouTube feed. Thank goodness for suggestions.
I have a couple theories for this video that are relatively short and simple. The first one is that it is about a friend comforting a friend after embarrassing herself in front of a boy she liked. The connection between the two girls is cute and realistic. My other idea is that the girl got dumped and the second girl actually has a crush on her friend but hides it fearing rejection and ridicule.
I could be wrong about the theory. More times than not I'm wrong. But as for the song, it was a bubbly, poppy tune that only Eunji's cheery voice could make that way. Eunji has that cute voice that is both powerful and adorable. I think that is why Eunji has been so successful and part of the reason Apink has been so successful as well.
Well, I'm not sure if Eunji will release any new material soon in relation to this release but I'm glad she did this track because I always miss her beautiful voice. Although I'm a bit disappointed she wasn't in the video, I will always support her. Please like and share this review. Leave a comment below as to what your thoughts were about the song. Thank you so much for supporting me and I'll see you in the next one.
Girls' Generation is a household name when it comes to K-Pop. Everyone knows who they are and what they've done for the genre. Well, 10 years have past since their debut and they are still making music. Since their 6th album release about a month ago, we are yet again graced by the voice of one of their beloved members. Im Yoona, the visual, appeared on SM Station season 2 with her solo song “When the Wind Blows”. Im Yoona isn't my bias but in this group, everyone who isn't Kim Taeyeon is my bias wrecker.
Before I begin writing anything else, I need to say that that song was breathtaking. Honestly I hope Yoona's first solo album is this style of music; the airy, atmospheric, enormous sounding choruses. The video, I believe, took place in two different time frames. I would assume that her and the boyfriend together is supposed to be them physically being there for each other. While the internet, long distance relationship was about them being separated for work or whatever else it could have been.
Another idea I have is that this all took place at the same time and they were furthering themselves from each other. The natural course of separation was overcoming their lives and pushing them from each other. Therefore, the scenes of them together were near the beginning of the relationship. Their love was new, fresh, and blooming. After time, the affection fades and they become more honest, cold, and distant which was represented with the video chats and phone conversations.
Yoona has a beautiful voice but her voice is considered weak compared to those of Taeyeon, Tiffany, or Seohyun. However, this calming but powerful song atmosphere that is present in this song, along with her soft and almost frail voice is a perfect match. It wouldn't make sense to put Yoona on a solo track similar to “Wannabe” by Hyoyeon. Her voice is meant to be cute, comforting and sort of airy. If I could listen to this song forever, I probably would. That's how much I already love this song.
Love Yoona. Support Yoona. Even if you don't support the company she comes from, support her because she deserves it. She is often overlooked when it comes to her vocal ability and that needs to stop. She has a wonderful voice that is powerful in its own way. This has been a music video review, discussing “When the Wind Blows” by Yoona. Thank you so much for supporting me and staying with me through all of my changes and shortcomings. I appreciate every one of you. I'll see you in the next one.
